This pretty little yellow Asian butterfly has a scientific name that is a mythical sea monster.
The Catopsilia scylla is known for its energetic and rapid jumping-style flight maneuvers. Similar to many other butterfly species, the males can often be found gathered in groups by riverbanks or moist spots near roadways, drinking the precious minerals they need but cannot get from plant nectar.
