Description
The Jewelled Nawab is a stunning white butterfly from South East Asia. The butterflies are characterized by their distinctive wing shape with twin tails on the hindwings, a feature strongly reminiscent of the African Charaxes. This species is found in primary rainforest at altitudes between about 100-600 metres. Males enjoy visiting damp sand along river beaches and do not like to aggregate with other species – it is a loner. This real framed insect displays the underside (verso side) of this specimen.
