Description
The Oleander Hawk Moth (Daphnis nerii) is a large species of hawk-moth found in parts of Africa, Asia and the Hawaiian Islands. It was introduced to the Hawaiian Islands to control an invasive oleanders plant, as well as to pollinate an endangered plant (Brighamia insignis and Brighamia rockii). Hawkmoths have a flight this is similar to hummingbirds with a rapid wing movement.
