Orb Weavers are one of the most conspicuous web-spinning spiders in the tropics, building large, semi-permanent webs roughly one meter in diameter. There have been several efforts in the past to produce garments from this spiders silk although none are commercially viable. However, a few pieces can be seen in museums. This framed spider display features a species from South East Asia called Nephilia.
