This beautiful real framed moth is rather obscure and not much is known about its natural history –but its beauty is unmistakable. It does not have a common name but the Japanese call it Satsumanishiki. The bright colours are a warning to predators that the moths are distasteful. There is no common name for this moth but in Japan it is called it Satsumanishiki. Also available displaying the underside.
